I love today…

June 5, 2010

Nothing too deep today. I think it would negate the whole point of what today seems to be about, which is – rest. This morning, Ingrid had to get up early for a yard sale that her Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPS) group was having. I was bummed that we wouldn’t be able to hang together and probably had made some sort of “agreement” or assumption that today was going to be busy. But it’s been a refreshingly relaxed pace today. Breakfast with my kids with a visit to the playscape, a visit to hang with Ingrid for a bit while she and friends braved the “yard sale in a church parking lot” heat, swimming and hangin’ w/ friends, snacking, playing, swimming, napping, swimming…and whatever else we figure out for the rest of the day…

…bottom line — I like the pace of today. I needed today…it’s just been a great gift.

What’s your favorite way to slow down, relax and be refreshed during time away from work and the rest of your life’s hustle and bustle? Would love to hear about it!

Today was a great day. I agree. Food friends and fun. Nothing like it.
We have a tradition of watching a movie on the barn. Tonight, it was Toy Story 2. We are getting ready. 😉
Having childhood friends to spend the day with is the best. 😀
